Critical Corner: Reviewing Top ten (10) Adventure Movies

I have seen numerous adventure movies..Trust me guys..I am an adventure freak..(only when it comes to movies..!!;))..Anyway...Out of my movies database, I am suggesting you my TOP 10 must-see adventure flicks..and as I always say..you may or may not like these movies..but yes..trust me when I say they are must-see..they are actually a little bit more than that!!!

"LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY"

It all started with LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING in 2001...and then came LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS and finally came LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING..Its a story of the journey of a young Hobbit named Frodo who is entrusted with a ring and now he has to destroy that ring to subdue and demolish evil powers..Undoubtedly my all time favorite..!!!..You will be completely soaked up and enamored by it guys..It is adventure at its acme!!..

"AVATAR"

AVATAR is a story of a paraplegic marine who is dispatched to the moon Pandora on a unique mission but then things get awry when he gets discombobulated in following his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home..Great cinematic beauty..and amazing screenplay..a must watch guys..!

"PAN'S LABYRINTH"

A story about a girl who escapes into an eerie but captivating fantasy world..!!..Sounds interesting right..Yes it is..!! Artistically beautiful, imaginative, and totally en-rapturous..!!..Two thumbs up!!!

"BIG FISH"

Hmm..!!..I have loved all the movies directed by TIM BURTON..so be it EDWARDS SCISSOR HANDS..or SLEEPY HOLLOW..or be it CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY..they all have one thing in common..they are all wonderful..!! ..And yes..they always take you in a different world..a world so imaginative and so abstract ..yet so real!!
BIG FISH is probably his best till date..!! Well..at least I think so!!

"BLOOD DIAMOND"

I saw BLOOD DIAMOND with huge expectations..(owing to the presence of Mr. LEONARDO DI CAPRIO..(my fav!!))..and the best part is..BLOOD DIAMOND stood still successfully on my exaggerated expectations..!!!..What a movie!!..mixing POLITICS and ADVENTURE along with superlative acting display!!!..Marvelous!!!..

"BACK TO THE FUTURE"

Guys..BACK TO THE FUTURE is a movie which I saw as a kid..and even today I laugh like anything whenever I get to see this movie..!!..Its funny..its adventurous..probably the best time-travel adventure movie you would have ever seen!!..Just go and watch it!!

"INTO THE WILD"

SEAN PENN directed this movie and I never thought it will be such a wonderful movie until I saw it!...Well..it taught me a lesson..HAPPINESS IS REAL ONLY WHEN IT IS SHARED!!..I won't reveal more..watch it guys..you will love it..for sure!!

"APOCALYPTO"

The movie APOCALYPTO is all about survival..It depicts the very human nature of securing themselves and to go to all extremes to protect themselves..Mel Gibson directed this movie is a sheer gem..something that will make sense for eternity!..

"STAR DUST"

It's a story of a guy madly in love with a girl..but the girl is never serious regarding him..so one day..guy asks that girl to ask for anything she wants so that she will marry him...at the same time..a star shoots from the sky..and the girl says..I WANT THAT STAR..!!..and he promises her ..that he will bring that star for her!!..Awesome movies guys..Its a conglomeration of ADVENTURE + ROMANCE + FANTASY..!!..I loved it..and I am pretty sure that even you will love it!!..

"PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL"

First thing first..I am a biii...g fan of JOHNY DEPP..Whatever he does on screen..I simply adore it!!!.. and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN is his best adventure film..!!(as per me!!)..But apart of being just a-Johny-Depp-movie..PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN scores in good direction..nice story..great characterization..decent sword fights..and yes..ultimate cinematography..!!!!

There are many more too..but then these movies score better comparatively!!..So if you were thinking to watch some good adventure flicks..well..I believe I have given you plenty of options..!!..and still if you want more suggestions..I will be more than happy to tell you!!..

CRITICAL CORNER: Reviewing "Top Five (5) Romantic Movies"

I am back to watching movies again.:)(thing I just love to do.. )!!..So, just thought of sharing some Greatest Romantic Movies that I have seen till now..Mind you guys that the movies I will suggest may or may not be loved by you depending upon the way you perceive ROMANCE...!! But then when I am suggesting them to you..trust me guys..they deserve at least a watch..!!! And then when you will see them..let yourself decide if I am right or wrong..!!

Okay so here it goes!!..

"BEFORE SUNRISE"

Whenever anyone asks me about my Favorite Romantic Movie..then I always have one answer..BEFORE SUNRISE..
Two people meet in a train..they start a conversation somehow..and then they just keep talking and talking...!!!..The plot itself mesmerizes me..always!!...Awesome chemistry...great dialogues..and romantically fantastic direction makes it a must watch!!..as they say..When love comes as a complete surprise....you never know!!!!...

This is one of those classics which every one should see..!!..A story of two different people destined to be together but finally manage to be together 20 years after knowing each other!!!..Awesome right!!:)..

"A WALK TO REMEMBER"

At first look..it looked like another teen movie..but then when I saw it..I loved it..I cried too..(Yes..It made me cry..obviously guys not literally !!)..but yes..A POWERFUL movie..with some strong performances ..especially by MANDY MOORE..She was just terrific..Watch it!!

One of my all time favorite KOREAN ROMANTIC MOVIE..!!..(Yes you read it right..Its a Korean movie..!)..Its a story of a girl who loves a guy..and one day..she finds her mom's letters..and a diary with her story..a truly spellbinding romantic story of two people separated by circumstances!!..Awesome story + Fantastic Acting + Contrived Direction + Great MUSIC!!!..
You will need the subtitle file to see this movie.

CRITICAL CORNER: reviewing..'MEMENTO'

Guys..I am starting this weekly post as a MOVIE REVIEW post..
To start with..I will be telling you about the TEN BEST MOVIES that I have seen till now belonging to different genres..and categories....and trust me guys..they are just fantastic..I have a team member from now on who will be helping me in writing these posts..(finally I have a team member..!)..anyway guys..enjoy the stuff..!!

Movie name: MEMENTO

Genre- crime, drama, thriller, drama


What if the last thing you remember is the most haunting memory of ur entire life.. and now..supplement it with a condition that forbids you from making any new one, which means u r stuck with that same memory for the rest of ur life aka 'short term memory loss', interesting scenario isnt it...!! This is "Leonard" finds himself in when he wakes up in his bedroom.. That aim is all he has got and it is the sole point of his existence...

The most striking part of this flick is its screenplay, first of its kind and it justifies the character and the plot entirely. The story is being told in a reverse fashion i.e from the end moving toward the beginning.. As an audience we are being put into the shoes of "Leonard" cause like him we too have no clue as to what happened before. The plot calls for so much involvement from the viewer that he/she just cant drift away even for a moment..(PS: it was nominated for the best screenplay written directly for the screen at the OSCARS)... last but definitely not the least..the immaculate performance by Guy Pierce as "Leonard" will leave you spell bounded..!!

It surely will grip u till the very end even when it will get over..there will be constant thoughts that will beleaguer your mind..

Caution: In case u are not in the mood to use your mind..kindly stay away from this stuff..it can be highly insalubrious for you..!
